PSY 202 Chapter Notes - Chapter all: Gratefulness, First Communion
Document Summary
Wade and tavris"s invitation to psychology defines religious affiliation as a choice made by a person of which particular belief system they will live according to. Furthermore, whether a person is a methodist, muslim, catholic, jew, hindu, and so on, is not heritable . The religious group people choose to belong to has a lot to do with influence from several factors, including the affiliation of their parents, ethnicity, culture, and social class (142). Conversely, the term religiosity is defined as a person"s depth of religious feeling and adherence to a religion"s rules (142), and contrary to affiliation, has a genetic component. Growing up in the episcopal church, god has always been a part of my life. As i have grown up, however, i have continuously assessed my religiosity regarding my faith. Using the book"s definition, i believe my religiosity is subtle yet traditional.
