Ghiberti"s relief won the competition to cast the doors. Filippo brunelleschi"s dome of duomo (santa maria del fiore) consists of two shells supported by a series of ribs. The dome was an engineering feat that did not require the use of wooden scaffolding. A pendentive is one of the concave triangles that achieves the transition from a square or polygonal opening to the round base of a dome or the supporting drum. Perspective is a system for representing spatial relationships and 3 d objects on a flat 2. D surface so as to produce an effect similar to that perceived by the human eye.
