Scene 1
• Sir Toby and Sir meet Cesario for the first time when he goes to Olivia’s house on the
Duke’s orders.
• Olivia asks him not to give her any more messages from Orsino, and then confesses that
she is in love with Cesario.
• But Cesario says no woman can win him over, and Olivia (who is desparate to see
Cesario again), requests that Cesario comes back with messages from the Duke.
Scene 2 and 3
• Sebastian and Antonio arrive at the coast of Illyria.
• But Antonio isn’t safe in Illyria because he got into a fight with Duke Orsino a few years
ago and is now a wanted criminal.
• However, Antonio, who seems to be in love with Sebastian, isn’t afraid as he stays in
Illyria for Sebastian’s sake.
