The adrenal medulla produces the amino acid-derived hormones epinephrine and norepinephrine (adrenaline and noradrenaline) Estrogen and progesterone // development of female reproductive tissues and secondary sex characteristics. Testosterone // development of male reproductive tissues and secondary sex characteristics. Aldosterone // regulation of blood pressure and electrolyte balance. Cortisol // regulation of metabolism and suppression of the immune response. Epinephrine and norepinephrine // stimulation of the body"s stress response (ex. Increasing heart rate, release of glucose, pupil dilation) The pancreas functions as both an endocrine and exocrine gland. It has an important role in regulating blood glucose levels throughout the day.
