Responsible government & separation of powers compared: follows british model, now used by most liberal democratic regimes, responsible gov is known for their efficiency b/c it is not possible for conflicting sides to be in effective power at the same time, like in the us separation of powers, critics suggest that this efficiency comes at the cost of liberty, because it is so difficult to oppose a party in power.
