Passover; that evening- the beginning of passover day- they have the meal. Jesus breaks the bread and offers wine as his body and blood: after the meal, they go out into the garden, where judas iscariot has betrayed. The next morning, he goes on trial before the roman governor, pontius pilate. Exactly like the passover lamb, jesus has to die on the day (the day of preparation) and the time (sometime after noob), when the passover lambs were being slaughtered in the temple. Jesus" birth is a fulfillment of the prophecies of scripture. Questionable events: wise men following a star to find jesus; no record of king. Herod slaughtering children in bethlehem: luke: begins with a lengthy account of the angel"s announcement to elizabeth who will give birth to john (the baptist) who is jesus" cousin. Goes into a story of mary visiting elizabeth and the birth of john.
