For abet, individual degree-granting programs complete a self-study report that must address several criteria in areas related to students. Can receive up to six years of accreditation. Must be proficient in written, oral, visual and electronic communication. Accreditation board for engineering and technology (abet) requires each accredited engineering program to assess that their engineering students have demonstrated. Cooperative education, engineering internship and engineering summer work experience. Alternating periods of full time academic college training with periods of full time work experiences. Single work period of institutionally supervised full-time employment of at least one semester. Single work period of institutionally supervised, engineering related, full time employment of 8-10 weeks. Specialized knowledge and skills used to benefit humanity. Support of professional and technical societies that represent the professional engineer.
