Epoche- when rick wakes up in the hospital, he is faced with a new, unfamiliar world than the one he remembers. At first, he is confused and unsure about what exactly is happening, and what the strange creatures/humans actually are and why they are trying to attack him. As the storyline evolves, we see rick demonstrate the concept of epoche by putting his personal views to the side to try to understand the current situation he has been placed in. Liminal- to say something is liminal means that it is a space that is and is not a specific place, all at the same time. While this definition seems a bit hard to grasp, i believe that the concept of a liminal space is seen in the walking dead, vol. In the story, the idea of home is liminal. While the campsite appears to be a home of sorts to the characters, it also is not their home.
