Database catalog the complete definition or description of the database structure and constraints are stored in the catalog. The database catalog of a database instance consists of metadata in which definitions of database objects such as basis tables, view tables, synonyms, value ranges, indexes, users, and user groups are stored. Dbms access stores the structure in a catalog separating the dbms programs and the data definitions. Dba dba stands for database administrator. Database administrator is responsible for controlling access to the database by coordinating the authorization of users to access certain data and data manipulation functions (delete, add, modify, read). Deductive database system a database system that provides capabilities for defining and implementing deduction rules for inferring new information from the stored database facts. Persistent object object oriented database systems are compatible with programming languages such as c++, and java.
