REL-2020 Chapter Notes - Chapter 4: Synoptic Gospels
Document Summary
After studying the synoptic gospels in depth, what i found most interesting about the. Gospel of john is the enormous difference in the revelation and disclosure of jesus" identity throughout john as compared to matthew, mark, and luke. Miracles in the book of john, he performs signs to show that what he and others claim about him is true. For example, when he multiplies the loaves of bread, he claims that he is the bread of life (john 6:35). When he gives the blind man sight in chapter 9, he claims that he is the light of the world (john 9:1-12). These signs that jesus performs are ways to validate that the claims that he and others are making about his equality and relationship with god are the truth, so that people. May come to believe that jesus is the messiah, the son of god, and that through believing [you] may have life in his name (john 20:30-31).
