The people choose who makes the law and executes it. Even though the government is representative the opinions and interests of people will eventually affect the daily direction of society. The majority that governs is mainly composed of peaceful citizens who desire the good of the country. Americans learn from birth that they must rely on themselves to overcome obstacles in life. They have only a defiant and restive regard for social authority. In the us, people associate for the goals of public security, commerce, morality, and religion. They believe that anything can be achieved through free action of the collective power of individuals. An association only exists when people cooperate to make it prevail. Opinions represented by associations must be clear and precise. The association gathers divergent minds and drives them to a single goal. When a political association has centers of actions in important points of the country it gains influence.
