Title: chapter 15: migration and diaspora, cambridge companion to modern arab culture. The reading describes he arab diaspora as just another consequence from european colonialism and post colonial relationships with the former imperial countries. Largely because of colonialism (and due to the fact a lot of these countries invaded, exploited, and left) there was a lot of uncertainty left behind. The author explains that this led to different languages and different ethnicities, and socioeconomic, religious, and political power struggles. However, the author also argues that arab migration is the key element in arab culture expanding. This chapter argues that the term arab world really should include people who participate in defining and developing arab culture regardless of where they actually live. Political and religious conflicts, as well as economic issues, have led to significant. Arab diaspora includes many forms of migration: migrations of arabs both within the arab world and out of it.
