Law and society"s boundaries are not well marked and it encourages immigration: historians, political scientists, lawyers, criminologists, economists, etc. Law and society turns this idealized view of the law upsidedown: real law - law as it is lived in the society, the abstract and idealized ideal is a human artifact. Jurisprudence is mostly devoted to examining what takes place inside the box of legal logic: law and society takes the opposite approach - it examines the influence on law o of forces outside the box.
