Ideology (marchak) a group of shared ideas, perceptions, values, and beliefs, through which members of society interpret history and social events; shaping their expectations for the future. Dominant ideology - ideology most widely shared at any given time that has the greatest impact on social action. Counter ideology - ideology held by minority that has an impact on social action.
