Some disorders have adult counterparts some disappear/change (elimination disorders) Each generation confronted by new sources internet safety, drugs, terrorism etc. Parents overreact child likely to respond to world this way. Some adult anxiety disorders require higher cognitive thinking, so not appearing until 7 years or older. Need cognitive + emotional growth for anxiety to fully unfold. Sometimes center on specific, or imaginary objects + events (ghost, thunderstorms etc) More often than not triggered by current events + situations.
