Aggression for any physical or verbal behavior that is intended to harm another person or persons (or any living thing). Intention of person committing the act (whether successful or not) Can manifest as failure to act (ie. not telling someone he/she is to embarrass her/himself, or passive aggressive) Immediate or lasting feelings of pain or suffering, injury of death. Physical or psychological (contributing to ptsd: insomnia, anxiety, hypervigilance, rumination, humiliation, self-blame, irritability, difficulty concentrating etc) Social rejection/ cyber-bullying = stripped sense of significant/esteem = lash out in violence. Collateral damage: witnesses, community etc those who care about victims. Affective & instrumental aggression (hot) affective aggression harm seeking done to another person that is elicited in response to some negative emotion. Unplanned (cold) instrumental aggression harm seeking done to another person that serves some other goal. Electric shock (pretend) scenario (where participant delivers shock to confederate) Spicy hot sauce administering (used in many child abuse cases)
