Hypnosis is a social interaction in which one person (hypnotist suggests to another (the subject) that certain perceptions, feelings, thoughts, or behaviors will spontaneously occur. These people have hypnotic ability: the ability to focus attention totally on a task, to be ultimately absorbed in it too. We don"t permanently store our experiences, and may be unable to retrieve some of which we have stored. Yes and they can even make them do dangerous acts. Hypnotherapists try to help people harness their own healing power. Posthypnotic suggestions have helped alleviate headaches asthma, and stress related skin disorders. Posthypnotic suggestions: a suggestion made during a hypnosis session to be carried out after the person isn"t hypnotized; used by some clinicians to help control undesired symptoms and behaviours. Hypnosis can relieve pain because it inhibits pain-related brain activity. Stanley milgram said an authoritative person in a legitimate context can induce people, hynpotized or not to perform some unlikely acts.
