The two most common problems are anxiety and depression, people mostly seek therapy for that. Unless a person is motivated to change, therapy will not help. A given therapist takes on eclectic approach, would borrow different techniques from different therapies. Psychoanalysis- is a type of therapy that is based on a psychoanalytic theory. (freud). The aim to uncover the original cause of the conflict by retracing the stages of psychosexual development and bring the problem to consciousness so that the patient can gain insight and re experience painful emotions.
