KINE 3030 Chapter Notes - Chapter 3: Body Force, Free Body, Net Force
Document Summary
Chapter 3 kinetic concepts for analyzing human movement. This is the resistance to action or change. Stay in a constant state that could mean to remain motionless or maintain a speed and direction. There are no units of measure but it is directly proportional to the mass the greater the mass the more the resistance to change. The quantity of matter composing/making up the body. A push or a pull acting on a the body. Force has a magnitude (how much of it) direction and point of application (which area the force is being applied) Body weight, friction, air and water resistance are the most common forces on the human body. The action of a force allows for acceleration. Free body diagrams allow the system to be seen in isolation and view all the forces acting upon it. See the vector (magnitude and direction) or force on a certain object or body part.
