Inter-role conflict: two different roles held by the same person which may lead to role overload. Identity more than the focal person can handle, leading to role overload. Identity represents one(cid:495)s sense of individuality and personality. Individuals impose themselves on their choices of roles and the way they choose to enact roles. Social identity: social identity develops through taking up certain roles, developing within to some external circumstance. Transition process: preparation: the change is anticipated and expected, and the individual seeks to be ready for it.
