HLST 1010 Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Discussion Questions
Document Summary
According to the reading the united states has a strikingly high number in correlation with inequities and health. There is insufficient efforts made to improve the conditions. The dominant nations such as the us focus more on neoliberal efforts for development which has an impaired view on health improvements which increase inequality because the poorer demographic cannot afford it. The similarities are that both socio-economic and social class views are focus on the person"s income, their education and their occupation. However socio economic view use this information to assess the person"s work status and the person"s economic position. There is less change with the social class view and more change that happens with the. The higher the person"s socio-economic status the higher their health status is. I believe moving away from a socio-economic view would benefit less developed areas because health care in this view is assessed by economic status which greatly disadvantages poor demography.
