Summary: chapter 8 gender, race, and health inequalities. The most important points in this chapter are the mentioning of health inequalities between gender and race. The chapter talks about the issues between men"s and women"s health, especially the addition study and research on women"s health. The gender differences in the society are vulnerable in inequalities of accessing health and health care. The chapter also focus intimately on race differences in relation to health in canada, such as the access to health care for recent immigrants to canada and the aboriginal people in canada. Other challenges of health inequalities are income adequacy and poverty, childcare and care giving, violence, mental health and illness, and occupational health. My reaction after reading this chapter are remarkably shocking because of the challenges for equal health and health care society are encountering base on gender and race.
