Hot weather and lack of access to nutrients heavily impacts their chance of survival. Very hot weather is persistent with water in very short supply. Ungulates species struggle to adapt in these situations, death is prominent in these situations. Climate affects ungulate species availability for food and water. Good: suitable conditions for ungulates to thrive and protect themselves. Fair: moderate climate enough to access food and water. Moderate cover, ability to retreat from incoming attacks in good timing. Severe: insufficient means of obtaining their basic needs due to unsuitable climate conditions. Poor: extreme temperatures (cold or hot) affects their survival.
