Our affect appraisers recognize threats in different situations and engage our emotions of fear and/or anger which obstructs our perception and thinking process. Selective perception: what we choose to see in a situation and what we don"t see in a situation. We look at the world from inside ourselves, and leave out anything that contradicts what we want to say or hear.
