Job performance is behavior the observable things people do that is relevant to. Job performance accomplishing the goals of an organization. Criteria: measures of job performance that attempt to capture differences in which individuals may perform at different levels of proficiency across job-related tasks or competencies. We can break job behavior into three subcategories: task performance, contextual performance, and counterproductive work behaviors. Task performance: the direct production of goods and services and direct contribution to the efficient functioning of the organization. Contextual performance: contextual performance contributes to the culture and climate of the organization; it is the context in which the organization"s core activities take place. Counterproductive work behaviors: deviance and aggression; leads to decreased performance and less productive organizations. Job performance depends on the specific job requirements as they relate to the goals of the organization and the value that the organization places on contextual factors such as teamwork and cooperation.
