Organization have many opportunities to engage in change. Change agents: people who act as catalysts and assume the responsibility for managing change activities. Kotter"s model exhibits lewin"s model; step 1-4 represent unfreezing, step 5-7 represent moving and the last step represents refreezing. Problem-focused as it only looks at the problems. Identifies the unique qualities and special strengths of an organization, which can then be built on to improve performance. It focuses on organization"s successes rather than on its problems. Discovery: discovery what people (employees) think are the strengths of the organization. Dreaming: speculate on possible futures for the organization by employees.
