Race is a reality in regards to physical characteristics. Race: a group with inherited physical characteristics that distinguish it from another group. Ethnicity/ethnic: applies to cultural characteristics, refers to people who identify with one another on the basis of common ancestry and cultural heritage. Ethnic work: refers to the way people construct their ethnicity. Minority group: people who are singled out for unequal treatment and who regard themselves as objects of collective discrimination. Discrimination: an action unfair treatment directed against someone. Racism: when the basis of discrimination of race. Individual discrimination: the negative treatment of one person by another. Institutional discrimination: discrimination becoming a routine in society; social policy. Scapegoat: a racial, ethnic, or religious minority they unfairly blame for their troubles; becomes a convenient and safe target on which to vent their frustrations. Authoritarian personality: individuals that believe things are either right or wrong. Dual labour market: workers divided along racial, ethnic, and gender lines.
