Document Summary
Marijuana is a preparation of leafy material, from the cannabis plant, that is smoked. 3 separate species exist, which caused issues because laws only used to mention cannabis sativa and therefore not all marijuana. Used for its fibres from which hemp rope and other items are made. Grows as a weed in us and ca. Grown for its psychoactive resins and is cultivated all over world. Grows primarily in russia, not at all in north america. Thc concentrated in resin of plant (mostly in flowering tops, less in leaves, little in stalks) Psychoactive potency depends on amount of resin present/varies on part of plant used. 3 traditional cannabis preparations from india that roughly correspond to those in: charas (most potent) Pure resin that has been carefully removed from surface of leaves and stems. Hashish: in its purest form is pure resin, like charas but may be less pure depending on how carefully resin has been separated.
