The authors wants to know if activities are needed to renew their licensures. I am an employee of the department of corrections & every year we have to have so many hours to maintain our certification, this includes going to boosters in order to facilitate programs. The training for security officers includes yearly firearm re-certification, in-service, and cpr/1st aid. I believe that learning never ends if a person wants to stay abreast in their field. The authors also wanted to access competence of licensed psychologists & how are they going to maintain their competence. The instrument that is used to address & measure competencies the professional competencies scale (neimeyer, taylor, and cox, 2012). the scale measures how a professional is going to maintain their knowledge. In my field i will continue to maintain my competency by attending annual trainings. The gaps in my training have been not havng more knowledge about advocacy & education.
