Sex pistols lead singer: johnny rotton, third generation child of rock and roll. Sex pistols tired of rock stars that ignored their fans. Rock bands no longer playing the music fans wanted to hear. Other bands followed, the clash, the jam, buzzcocks, the damned, the subway sect. Musicians and audience wear street cheap, ripped clothes. Once again there"s feeling that its possible to be and play like the bands on stage. First 5 years of the 70s can be compared to early sixties when rock stars of the 50s were wiped out. Jimmi hendrix, jim morrison, brian jones, janis joplin are dead. Rock and rollers were heroes of punk kid"s generation because they rejected and broke restrictions which kept teens bound to the outdated authority of their parents. They were anti-elitist, fans felt they were as involved with the music as the musicians. Problem was the rock stars became adults and dropped rebellious stance.
