The lss (leadership scale for sports) contains five subscales and three reflecting behaviours; training and instruction, social support, and positive feedback and the remaining two reflect decision styles; autocratic and democratic. Training and instruction are behaviours by the coach that are geared to improving team member performance. Social support is leader behaviour that are characterized by a concern for the welfare of the individual athletes, the fostering of positive group atmosphere and warm relationships with team members. Positive feedback are behaviors by a coach that reinforce an athlete ny. When coaches engaged in these tactics their groups were proven to be more recognizing and rewarding strong performance cohesive.
