The field of ob is about understanding people and managing them to work effectively: group accomplishment: individuals are assembled for a reason virtually all have survival as a goal. The field of ob is concerned with how organizations can survive and adapt to change. Be motivated to join & remain in the organization. Carry out their basic work reliably, in terms of productivity, quality. Be willing to continuously learn & upgrade their knowledge and skills. Be flexible and innovative: especially important for contemporary organizations as they provide for adaptation to change, group effort: organizations depend on interaction and coordination among people to accomplish their goals. Much of the work done in organizations is by groups.
