A family based on marriage; at minimum, a spousal pair and their children. In our society the trend has stayed away from conjugal to one that is more varied. Nuclear family: form of family that is an atomies family, two generation: one or more parents and their unmarried children. Mobile cultures (foragers, modern workers, migrants value this form) Extended family: three generations living together: parents, married children, and grandchildren.
