West: pee(cid:396)s (cid:272)a(cid:374) i(cid:374)flue(cid:374)(cid:272)e e/o"s self-efficacy through support and encouragement, also imitation. Identity capital and mass higher education: general research on id formation is inconclusive about influence of school, evidence from icm suggests that some types of students make developmental gains in specific contexts. Icm directs us to examine wider societal context late-modernity to look for influences that make id formation more difficult in general and require id-based agency to be used in order to make gains. The empirical research suggests that mass higher education has little effect in terms of fostering optimal identity formation outcomes among the student body (as a main effect).
