Conditional: various means of leaving a correctional institution before warrant expiry by which the offender is subject to conditions that if breached could trigger revocation of the release: i. e parole. Warrant expiry date: the end of an offenders sentence. Section 100 of the corrections and conditional release states that purpose of condition release is to contribute to the maintenance of a peaceful society and a way to facilitate the rehabilitation of offenders. Decided by a board on two questions: 1) the offender will not, by reoffending, present an undue risk to society before the expiration 2) release of the offender will contribute to the protection of society by facilitating reintegration. Release options for federal and provincial and territorial inmates: Federal offenders: may be released under the one chance statutory release where offenders who violate the conditions of a statutory release are required to serve the remainder of their sentence in confinement.
