Prejudice: an attitude, affective (emotional) component, a hostile or negative attitude towards people in a distinguished group, based solely on their membership to that group. Discrimination: behavioural (action, unjustified negative or harmful action towards a member of a group simply because of his membership to that group, eg. landlords likely to say space in unavailable if: identifies as lesbian/gay, aids, living in shelter, Aboriginal: also apparent in schools - aboriginals and homosexuals, also in newspaper coverage - more male tennis players than females, also for obese people - less desire to interact with them, eg. black defendants get harsher sentences.
