Objet permanence: how infant comes to think of objects as still things that exist even when they are out of sight. Stage 1: use of reflexes (birth to 1 month) interacts with environment by means of relatively fixed, innate routines, or reflexes, which piaget viewed as the simplest early versions of schemes.
