Personality individual differences in traits and behavior that are stable over time and consistent across situations. The origins of personality, the textbook discusses from 4 perspectives. Was never trained as a psychologist, but was a trainer neurologist (doctor). He came into contact with many patients with a condition known as hysteria. Hysteria has very unusual symptoms, with no physical basis. An example is glove anesthesia, where someone cannot feel from their wrist to the tips of their fingers, which is physiologically impossible. Almost every person that freud treated with hysteria had some form of sexual contact with adults during their early childhood. He felt that many of the people who reported these sexual assaults, were lying about the occurrence actually happening. This idea was due to inconsistent stories among patients.
