A prostitute can be a persons of either gender. Sex workers prostitutes, erotic dancers, phone sex workers , porn models/actresses. Commercial sex workers (prostitutes) reciece money, gifts, other forms of payment (drugs) for engaging in partnered sexual activities or interactions. Prostitution has never been illegal in canada. Living on money made from prostitution is illegal. Illegal to keep a common bawdy house (whore house) for purpose of indecent acts. Basically, although prostitution is legal, there are no clear guidelines on where it can take place. More sex workers than customers are charged and their sentences are more severe. Men tend to be more accepting of prostitution than women. Some feel that because prostitution is a victimless crime, and that both parties equally consent to it, it should not be illegal. Sex workers should be entitled to all the benefits and protection given to other workers.
