Behavioural medicine- relationship between biomedical and behavioural approaches (remediation) Health psychology- application of psychological principles to the diagnosis and treatment of illness and to maintain health and well being. World health organization- health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or in rmity. Neil millers 1983 article marked arrival of health psych. Germ theory- the discovery that many illnesses are caused by microorganisms. Germ theory > antibiotics >reducing illness at cellular level.
