Illicit drugs: illegal drugs: d-lysergic acid diethylamide= lsd. 2 drugs considered in same context of psychedelics = mdma and marijuana. 4-methoxyamphetamine passed off as mda (love drug) but is 10x more powerful and kills many users: study with 28 mdma pills sent to a lab: 15 mdma or related drugs, 3 no drugs, 8 of the 10 unrelated drug = dextromethorphan (cough suppressant) which had effects of nausea, delirium, itchy skin, loss of motor control, audio and visual hallucinations sometimes lasting for 36 hours or londer: dangerous. Invention of lsd: albert hofman: looking for new medicines in basel, switzerland, sandoz company, produced new chemical compound lsd-25. 1943 produced again and was interrupted with feelings of slight restlessness and dizziness: his imagination was so stimulated for 2 hrs that perceived an uninterrupted stream of pictures ect. In 1960, more than 500 papers on lsd were published.
