Ex: a organization that formerly didn"t allow female members start to recruit women now only for their gender. Both social and legal constructions of difference have effect of hiding from view the relationships among people, relationships marked by power and hierarchy. Allows us to become to we are and sort out our own lives. But also, creates problems - we cede power to social definitions we cant control.
