I believe that web 2. 0 technologies provide channels for researchers and healthcare professionals to deliver validated, evidence-based information to consumers and patients to improve health and well-being. I was impressed that the dynamic intermediation- disintermediation-apomediation model could describe how apomediation is used to better inform patients through social media techniques and also can lead to empowerment among patients and decreased reliance on experts. Upon reflection, i feel that web 2. 0 strategies are innovative ways to reach target populations that otherwise would never be interested in health topics or education and improves the knowledge and self-efficacy of patients.
