Discourses play major role in shaping relations of power what is valued in society and receive attention and resources. Current discourses of health will have elements of both traditional and naturalistic ways of thinking. Health is desirable, a social good, and therein lies its power to shape action. What is considered healthy and unhealthy is influenced by cultural context.
