=>language is at the heart of all human things. =>linguistics is the study of how language works, how it is used, how it is acquired, how it changes over time and how it is represented in the brain etc. Vocal chords: produce vibrations for speech sounds. Teeth: provide place of articulation for consonants. Nose: to provide nasal resonance during speech: newborns respond differently to human voices than to other types of sounds, sign languages are conveyed via gestures, body posture and facial expressions. Sign language: not just spelling out oral language independent systems of communication => own vocal and grammatical rules. French sign language and english sign language can be similar. Nouns as verbs pull the boat onto the beach = beach the boat clean the oor with a mop = mop the oor put the wine in bottles = bottle the wine.
