Common law crimes abolished (s. 9), but principles continue. Contains most, but not all, of criminal law. Must be able to point to a statute to convict someone, unlike in uk (common law) where the house of lords can make a new law on the spot and convict that person. Under (cid:883)(cid:884) can"t be convicted of a criminal offence. No limitation period for indictable offences (cid:498)time does not run against the crown(cid:499) 6 months limitation for summary conviction offences.
