Law made by the courts (common law or case law) Law made by legislators (statue law: statue: a written law of legislative body, i. e. an act of parliament. Laws may be passed by both federal and provincial legislatures. Devisions of law: law of any legal system can be divided into several parts but they are all interrelated, procedural law: deals with court and pre-trial procedure and rules of evidence. Ex. the law relating to how a criminal charge is worded: substantive law: deals with the rights of individuals.
