Patients with sle usually have more serious psychosocial and physical problems leading to frequent admissions. Patients who have sle have the 6th highest hospital rate of readmission. Adequate self-care knowledge and skills are key for improving qol. Targeted interventions need to be developed that improve self-care and quality of life in patients who have sle. Most studies have only focused on the transition from pediatric to adult care. Studies that evaluated transition care for adults with sle is rarely available.
