Chapter 8 - interventions: health communication strategies. Environmental change strategies: health-related community service strategies. Planners must identify an activity/set of activities that would allow the most effective and efficient achievement of the goals and objectives. Measurement of the activity that needs the intervention is known as a pre-program measure. A post-program measure follow the intervention to determine success. Size of an intervention number of activities it is made up of. Activities are more effective when aimed at multiple levels of influence that affect behaviour and health status (i. e. sociological approach) Can be defined by its form in hp programs (ex. Included in almost all hp interventions, while they are useful in reaching goals/objectives. Can create awareness, change attitudes, encourage, motivate, increase demand, and build social norms. More cost effective and less threatening, but cannot change behaviour/reduce disease risk alone. Traditionally, the sender is the gatekeeper of information.
