Spatial = to do with space, how things are distributed across the earth"s surface (aka earth space) Geographers deal with all things spatial (in the way that historians deal with time) Geography is the study of spatial variation. Variation in places (cultural + physical aspects) from different locations around the world. Geography studies the interactions between humans, the physical realm, and other organisms (aka the biosphere) Caused sudden, symptomless deaths, that led to evacuation. Snow determined that it was caused by a contaminated water supply by plotting where deaths occurred a map and realising they all surrounded one water pump. Somehow, this demonstrates that geography is applicable to real life problems. They also invented latitude lines (parallels) and longitude lines (meridians) to measure the earth with a grid. Strabo was one of the first geographers to realise that humans and the environment had a two-way relationship (not just environment humans)
